I am a dedicated social services professional with a bachelor’s degree in social work and a lifelong passion for advocating for individuals with developmental and physical disabilities. My career has been an adventure spanning three states, beginning in my home state of Colorado. There, I balanced raising my family and breeding Nubian goats with gaining foundational, hands-on experience as a Direct Support Professional and school paraprofessional managing complex behaviors.

My journey then took me to Washington, where I stepped into a leadership role as a Program Manager, proudly supervising 47 individuals who experienced disabilities some with complex behaviors in a retail setting. For the past 17 years, I have called Alaska home, expanding my expertise across diverse roles including State Care Coordinator, Vocational Rehabilitation Vendor, and Administrative Assistant.

Throughout my career, I have prided myself on my adaptability and my unwavering commitment to the communities I serve. As I look toward my next adventure, I bring with me decades of professional experience, deeply grounded by my core values of faith, family, and friends.

I moved to Alaska at the age of two from Illinois. I have lived most of my life in Valdez, lived in McCarthy for a year during 7th grade, and left Valdez on my 18th birthday moving to Reno Nevada.

While in Reno I met my husband, had three children and after five years in Reno moved back to Alaska where I have been ever since.

My career in human service started at Connecting Ties, Inc. as a job coach. After I finished my degree in disability I became a Care Coordinator and have continued for over 20 years.

I enjoy spending time with family which has grown to include nine grandkids. I have been involved with different organizations in the community: friends of Valdez Animal Sheler, Parents Plus, Gold Rush Days, and currently enjoy being active with local Emblem along with State Emblem.
